- This Safer Neighbourhood area covers Codnor and Waingroves. It belongs to the Amber Valley policing section. Codnor and Waingroves are situated between the market towns of Ripley and Heanor. They are former mining communities which are in a semi-rural location. Both the villages have grown in recent years through new housing, the population is now approximately 5000.
