- About This Team
- The beat area covers the villages of Edwinstowe, Kings Clipstone and the parts of Clipstone that fall within the Newark and Sherwood District Council area. It is surrounded by mainly forest area made up of four seperate parks, these being Rufford, Sherwood Pines Country Park, Vicar Water country park and Sherwood Forest. The area is mainly an ex-mining community, and as such is very close knit with strong family values being up held by most. A working colliery, Thoresby colliery, is situated near Edwinstowe and employs a number of local people. The village of Clipstone lies on the out skirts of Forest Town, with Mansfield towards the south west of the area. Edwinstowe stands alone between Warsop and Ollerton and is a popular tourist area, due to it's connection with the Robin Hood story and near by Center Parcs Holiday Village.
