- NEWARK TOWN CENTRE Newark Town Centre is an historical market Town divided by the River Trent. It has a population in excess of 6000 inhabitants living in approximately 2800 private households and a further 360 non domestic properties. The Town is predominantly a working town where citizens and shoppers transit through between 0700 and 1800 during the day. Newark's nightlife is available until the early hours at two local nightclubs. The Town has the Castle Railway Station, two large Supermarkets as well as a mixture of interesting commercial businesses and private dwellings. Newark Town Centre has a multicultural Community with four junior Schools and a College of further education and two Marinas. The Town Centre also covers the old Cattle Market and Vehicle Park leading up towards the main island and the A46. Across the island is the A617 and A616 the latter route taking you towards the British Sugar site and the A617 takes you past the Newark Rugby Club towards Kelham. The Beat also covers Farndon Road and Devon, Sconce Park, Hawton Road Allotment and associated residential housing.
