About This Team
Toton & Chilwell Meadows is an expanding area located near to Beeston and Stapleford. The majority of streets within Toton are accessed via the B6003 Stapleford Lane / High Road. The most recent developments within Toton are located on land formerly owned by the Ministry of Defence. These developments are known as Chilwell Meadows. The Chilwell Meadows estate is accessed via Swiney Way & Ransom Road and these roads can be reached via the B6003 Stapleford Lane & A6005 Nottingham Road. The area has a combination of both natural and road boundaries. The western border follows the line of the River Erewash as it runs along Toton Sidings and the northern border follows the A52 until it reaches the footbridge at Baulk Lane. The majority of the eastern border is farmland running parallel to Stapleford Lane; this then joins the southern border, Nottingham Road, leading back to the river. Within the area there is a large supermarket located on Swiney Way. There is also a small retail park located off Ransom Road. Throughout the area there are a number of retail outlets including off licences, newsagents, general stores, post office and two public houses. There are also a number of open spaces both wooded and grassed within the area. The main areas are Manor Park and the area around Toton Sidings. There are smaller parks offering play facilities on Banks Road, Swiney Way & Mountbatten Way. The area has three Churches, which are: Toton Methodist Church: St Peters Anglican Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. The area has three Primary Schools, which are: Banks Road Infants School: Chetwynd Road Primary and Bispham Drive Primary. All three schools feed into the local George Spencer School, Stapleford.
