- About This Team
- Calverton Calverton is primarily a residential village approximately four miles from Arnold. The main arterial routes leading to Calverton are the A614, B6386 and the A6097. The main roads through Calverton are Main Street, Collyer Road, Crookdole Lane and Park Road. These roads run almost parallel with each other with numerous small roads running at right angles to them. The village has 2 retail areas. The main area is St Wilfrid's Square with a range of shops from food retailers to an undertaker. The village doctor's surgery and library are also in the square. The other retail area is on Flatts Lane, where there is a supermarket, off licence and fast food retailer. There are four places of worship, three primary schools and one comprehensive school, Colonel Frank Seely. There are five licensed premises in Calverton and two recreation and play areas: William Lee Recreation Ground on Park Road and James Seely Park on Main Street. There is a small industrial area off Park Road. Woodborough Woodborough is a small village situated approximately two miles from Calverton, accessed from Calverton via Bonner Hill. Access can also be gained from the A6097. There is one road, Main Street, running through Woodborough from Calverton to Epperstone on the A6097. There are small side roads leading from Main Street. There are two public houses in Woodborough and also Woodborough Hall, which is now a restaurant and conference centre and is licensed for weddings. There is one retail/Post Office outlet and St Swithun's Church situated on Main Street. There is one primary school. Woodborough tends to flood during periods of heavy rain. Woodborough village is the current holder of the Best Kept Village Award 2007/2008 and is a finalist again this year {2009/2010}. Woodborough is surrounded by open country.
