- About This Team
- The Gedling Ward area is situated geographically between the Gedling Phoenix Estate on one side and the Village of Lambley on the other. The A6211 Arnold Lane, the B684 Plains Road and the A612 Colwick Loop Road border the Village. The beat has a large playing field situated off Lambley Lane that leads onto the former site of the Gedling Colliery. Dog walkers and naturalists regularly use the Old Pit site. The site is fast becoming a thriving nature reserve in its own right. At the centre of this community stands the Gedling All Hallows Church. The church is a focal point for the whole community and a number of events can be found taking place at this location throughout the year. The Memorial Hall in Gedling is home to a large number of local groups that include a locally owned and run dance school for children through to teenagers. The local primary school is Willow Farm on Willow Lane at Gedling and the catchment senior school is Carlton Le Willows on Wood Lane at Gedling. There are two public houses situated within the confines of the village. On Conway Road there is a council run bowling green, tennis court and a small football kick about area. Burton Road has a very large Council run playing field that hosts cricket in the summer and football in the winter.
