The borders are A60 Mansfield Road, Nottingham Road, Arnot Hill Road, Hallams Lane leading onto Brookfield Road. The border then reaches Rolleston Drive at the top and left onto Gedling Road, Arno Vale Road leading to Thackerys Lane and right onto A60 Mansfield Road. There are industrial units off Brookfield Road plus a small parade of shops and take-aways on Rolleston Drive, five primary schools, two places of worship and a fire station. Arnot Hill Park is a large recreational area and is also the location for the Gedling Borough Council offices. Mapperley Plains. Mapperley Plains is primarily a residential area. The borders are Plains Road left onto Woodborough Lane, the boundary then cuts across open country to Killisick Lane leading to Killisick Road. It then crosses over the recreational area turning left onto Coppice Road to traffic lights turning right onto Rolleston Drive, right onto Gedling Road to rejoin at junction with Plains Road. There are two senior schools and one primary school. Mellish Rugby Football Club is on Plains Road. A large proportion of Mapperley Plains is open countryside. Woodthorpe. Woodthorpe is a residential area. The borders are Plains Road right onto Woodthorpe Drive to junction with A60 Mansfield Road towards Arnold, Thackerys Lane leading onto Arno Vale Road which in turn leads on to Gedling Road. Then turn right at junction with Plains Road. There is one infant and one primary school, one place of worship on De Vere Gardens, one public library and one private Nuffield hospital. There is a recreational ground between Woodthorpe Drive and Breck Hill Road.
