About This Team
Attenborough is a small village that is located between Beeston and Long Eaton. The village is accessed via the A6005 by using Attenborough Lane / Barratt Lane and Long Lane. The Attenborough Beat area covers the area to the south of the A6005 between the junctions of High Road, Toton & Charlton Grove. Within the Attenborough area there are numerous green field locations, which have both wooded and grassed areas. The largest of these is Attenborough nature reserve, which is accessed via Barton Lane. The nature reserve has a recently constructed visitors centre. There is also a large golf course and a leisure centre, which are both accessed via the A6005. On the outskirts of Attenborough there is a large retail park with a number of different retail outlets and also a popular hotel, which contains leisure facilities. Within the village itself there is a train station, which is well used as there are services to Nottingham. There are a small number of shops on Attenborough Lane and also a village hall where different events and groups are held. There is also a tennis club and a cricket club located within the village.
