- About This Team
- The Radford West area comprises of a very culturally diverse community with numerous specialist food and retail shops. The area also has a large student population, most of whom attend the nearby Nottingham Trent University and University of Nottingham. Radford was the home of Players Cigarettes and Raleigh Industries, once the world's largest bicycle producer. It provides the backdrop for much of Alan Sillitoe's book Saturday Night and Sunday Morning. Numerous scenes from the film of the book, which starred Albert Finney, were shot in Radford. In the Centre of Radford West is the John Carroll Leisure Centre that offers a wide range of activities for all age groups.
