- About This Team
- Bestwood has approximately 3300 households. The area of the Bestwood Estate borders the junctions of Arnold Road/Hucknall Road & Arnold Road/Edwards Lane to the Junctions of Beckhampton Road/Eastglade Road and Southglade Road/Andover Road, also encompassing the area between the City Hospital and Arnold Road. There is a primary school on Padstow Road. The nearby Southglade Leisure Centre provides leisure facilities. This is one of the city's finest and a new children's playground has recently been opened at the centre. Shopping in the area is provided by a number of local shops located on Arnold Road, Andover Road and Beckhampton Road. A local youth club is run two evenings per week at the Gainsford Community Centre. There are a number of activities including Music Production, Arts & Crafts and the Gamezone. The area also has the BAIT (Bestwood Angling Interests Team) that takes young people from the area fishing.
