To elect the Mayor of the Borough (but not to receive his/her declaration of acceptance of office) for the municipal year 2012/13.

The Mayor of a London borough shall be elected annually by the Council from among the Councillors. The Mayor shall, unless he resigns or becomes disqualified, continue in office until his successor becomes entitled to act as Mayor. (Local Government Act 1972 : Schedule 2, paragraph 2).

A Mayor Making ceremony will be held on Thursday, 17th May 2012 at 7.30pm in the Wandsworth Civic Suite.

To receive notification by the Leader of the Council of the structure of the Cabinet and the appointment of Executive (Cabinet) Members and Deputy Leader of the Council for the municipal year 2012/13, along with the delegation of Executive powers, duties, functions and responsibilities.  (Attached – Paper No. 12 – 288)

To receive report by the Chief Executive and Director of Administration on notification by the Minority Group on the Council of the appointment of the Leader of the Opposition and the Deputy Leader of the Opposition.  (Attached – Paper No. 12 – 289)

To consider report by the Chief Executive and Director of Administration on a review of the representation of the political groups on the Council and proposals for the appointment of committees for the 2012/13 municipal year.  (Attached – Paper No. 12 – 290)   

To consider report by the Chief Executive and Director of Administration on the appointment of Council representatives to serve upon certain outside bodies.  (Attached – Paper No. 12 – 291)
