The Committee considered the report of the Planning and Economic Regeneration Director recommending that the above application for the Change of use of the existing gymnasium to motorcycle sales showroom and workshop, with diner at first floor level and roller shutters to the rear be granted subject to the conditions and for the reasons stated or referred to in the report.
Prior to consideration of the application, the Committee received a petition from Councillor M. Fearn on behalf of objectors against the proposed development and a response by the applicant’s agent, Mr. Ainsworth.
RESOLVED:
That the recommendation be approved and the application be granted subject to the conditions and for the reasons stated or referred to in the report and subject to the following additional conditions:-
15. Before the development is commenced, a scheme shall be submitted to and approved by the Local Planning Authority specifying the provisions to be made for the control of noise emanating from activities in the workshop. These measures shall then be implemented in full before the development is occupied.
16. Prior to the first use of the workshop hereby permitted, full details of a mechanical ventilation system for the workshop, to prevent the build up of fumes from vehicles shall be submitted to and approved in writing with the Local Planning Authority. The system shall then be installed in full accordance with the approved details and thereafter permanently retained as such unless otherwise agreed in writing with the Local Planning Authority.
