To consider passing the following resolution:
That, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item(s) of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1,2 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act. The Public Interest Test has been applied and favours exclusion of the information from the Press and Public.

Further to Minute No. 74 of 22 December 2008, the Committee-considered the report of the Head of Support and Operations on an appeal against the refusal to provide a travel pass.
RESOLVED:
That the appeal against the refusal to provide a travel pass be not allowed on the grounds that:
(a) there is no eligibility under the Authority’s published arrangements for reimbursing travelling expenses, in particular, because it is not more than three miles ‘walking distance’ from the pupil’s home to the school they attend, by the shortest available route; and
(b) the personal reasons referred to in the appeal are not sufficiently exceptional to justify reimbursing travelling expenses.
