Health and Social Care Directorate Service Plan 2009/10 PDF 446 KB
Report of the Strategic Director of Adult Social services (Health and Social Care)
Minutes:
The Cabinet Member considered the report of the Strategic Director – Health and Social Care advising of the Health and Social Care Directorate Service Plan 2009/10; setting out the intended actions of his department for this period; and indicating that a decision on this mater was required to comply within the Corporate Performance Management Framework.
The report indicated that the Department of Health White Paper ‘Our Health, Our Care, Our Say’ 2006 had set out a vision to provide people with good quality health and social care services in the communities where they lived and to change the way services were provided, placing greater choice and control into the hands of the people who used them; and that the White paper clearly set out the direction of travel for Health and Social Care services over the next five years based on the concept of well being and strongly recommended the notion of ‘seven outcomes’ for Health and Social Care services as:
1.
Improved health and emotional well-being;
2.
Improved quality of life;
3.
Making a positive contribution;
4.
Choice and control;
5.
Freedom from discrimination;
6.
Economic well-being;
7.
Personal dignity;
Attached as an annex to the report was the Health and Social Care Directorate Service Plan 2009/10-2011/12.
RESOLVED:
That the intended actions of the Health and Social Care Directorate for 2009/10, as detailed in the Service Plan be approved.
