Joint report of the Strategic Director - Social Care and Well-Being and the Equalities Director.
Minutes:
The Cabinet Member considered the report of the Strategic Director of Social Care and Wellbeing, seeking approval of the draft Strategy for Older Citizens, indicating that the strategy had been prepared by the Sefton Partnership for Older Citizens based on the needs of older people identified through the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment; that based on the final draft of the strategy an action plan would be prepared and would be continually informed by the Sefton Partnership for Older Citizens; and that the Strategy would be submitted to the Sefton Borough Partnership for approval on 24 February 2010.
RESOLVED:
That the contents of the report be approved.

Report of the Strategic Director - Social Care and Well-Being
Minutes:
The Cabinet Member considered the report of the Strategic Director of Social Care and Wellbeing that provided the forecast position, based on information as at the 31 December 2009 in relation to the Health and Social Care Portfolio’s 2008/09 Revenue Budget and Capital Programme.
The report also sought a view on whether any comments should be made to the Cabinet regarding the overall performance of the Portfolio’s Revenue Budget and the schemes within the Capital Programme.
RESOLVED: That
(1) the progress on the Health and Social Care Portfolio’s revenue budgets that are subject to risk-based monitoring be noted;
(2) the action taken by the Strategic Director of Social Care and Wellbeing to find savings to offset the identified overspends be noted;
(3) the progress made on schemes within the Portfolio’s element of the Council’s Capital Programme be noted; and
(4) the report be forwarded to the Overview and Scrutiny Committee (Health and Social Care) for information.

Further to Minute No 40 of the meeting held on 14 October 2009, the Cabinet Member considered the report of the Strategic Director of Social Care and Wellbeing, which provided an update of his Department’s performance activity for the third quarter 2009/10, in relation to achieving key objectives.
RESOLVED: That
(1)
the performance on activity for the second quarter 2009/10 in relation to achieving key objectives as referred to in the report be noted; and
(2)
the fact that the information contained in the report had been referred to Cabinet as part of a consolidated report on performance information across the Council, be noted.

The Cabinet Member considered the report of the Strategic Director Social Care and Wellbeing regarding the activity and developments in relation to Safeguarding Adults in Sefton.
RESOLVED: That
(1) the report updating on the activity and developments in Safeguarding Adults in Sefton be approved; and
(2) further reports be received on a quarterly basis on the performance in relation to Safeguarding Adults.

Report of the Strategic Director - Social Care and Well-Being
Minutes:
Further to Minute No 13 of the meeting held 24 June 2010, the Cabinet Member considered the report of the Strategic Director of Social Care and Wellbeing seeking a view on the process required for a self-assessment report to be submitted to the Cabinet Member on an annual basis as part of the scrutiny and performance monitoring process of Partnership Boards to be created under the Government’s ‘Valuing People Now – From Progress to Transformation’ paper to help tackle inequalities in relation to people with learning difficulties.
RESOLVED: That
(1) content of the report be noted;
(2) the Sefton Learning Disability Partnership Board in the review of its form, function and membership to ensure it is fit for the purpose of delivering the ‘Valuing People Now’ three year strategy be endorsed; and
(3) the process for reporting annually to the Cabinet Member on the content of the self-assessment annual report be
