The Committee considered the report of the Borough Solicitor and Secretary which advised Members on the need to carryout a study into the demand and usage of hackney carriages and private hire vehicles in Knowsley.
RESOLVED –
(i) That the report be noted;
(ii) that the Head of Environmental Health and Consumer Protection be authorised to commission a study into the demand and usage of hackney carriages and private hire vehicles in Knowsley and report the findings back to a future meeting of the Committee;
(iii) that approval be given for the study to be funded from the licensing budget; and
(iv) that the start of the study be deferred until the outcome of the Public Inquiry into the redevelopment of Kirkby Town Centre had been announced.
